20 YEAR WARRANTY 

Against defects in material and workmanship, as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed. Electronic components warranted two (2) Years. 

RECOMMENDED CLEANING 

It is recommended that the use of a liquid solution of mild household soap and water be applied with a sponge to wipe off accumulation of surface dirt on the entry system. 

EXCLUSIONS FROM WARRANTY COVERAGE 

• The stain process attempts to replicate a wood door. As in wood doors, the stain may be deeper in certain sections and lighter in others. This is common in fiberglass doors and such variations are excluded from warranty. 

• Installation of a storm door on any entry system will render this warranty null and void. Excessive heat build up due to the storm door can cause doorlite failures and peeling paint. 

• Any door which has been repaired or modified or attempted to have been repaired or modified by any person other than a Novin Doors authorized representative.

 • Damage or poor product performance resulting from installation in a condition that exceeds product design standards and/or certified performance specifications and/or non-compliance with building codes.

 • Warp not exceeding 3/16” in the plane of the door panel, bow or misalignment in the door frame in which the door panel is hung. 

• Structural integrity issues or other problems caused by improper fitting of hardware or improper sizing of the door system.

 • Damage or malfunction caused by improper shipping or handling. 

• Problems related to water and/or air infiltration due to installation errors or flaws in building design and construction. 

• Condensation or ice build-up (Note: Most condensation or ice build up problems are related to excessive humidity levels in a structure.) 

• Doors installed within 8 km from any body of salt water carry a 2 1/2 year paint and 10 year components warranty. 

• Normal wear and tear and natural weathering of surfaces. Exposure to sunlight, air pollutants and normal atmospheric conditions may cause a stained door or vinyl clad surfaces to gradually fade.

• Acts of God, or damage as a result of any cause beyond our control (e.g. fire, flood, earthquakes, other acts of nature and acts of a third party outside of our control). 

• Economic loss, problems due to misuse or abuse, intentional or accidental acts, and negligence. Damage caused by scratches to the door panel surface or frame cladding surface resulting in rusting/blistering and peeling of paint or coating. 

• Failure to follow the care and maintenance instructions or exposure to harmful chemicals or pollutants. 

• Products suffering an accumulation of surface dirt or stains.

Subject to the exclusions, limitations and conditions set out below, Novin Doors warrants that our door systems will be free from defects in material and workmanship from the date of initial purchase provided such entry and interior doors have been used under normal service conditions and residential use. The warranty applies only to the original end-user and is not transferable. 

 

One Year Exterior Door Limited Warranty

For doors used in an exterior application, other than as specified herein, this warranty shall survive for one year after the date of shipment from Novin Doors. This warranty applies to doors properly sealed, finished and, in the case of exterior applications, hung in a location protected from exposure to direct sun or rain under normal conditions.

For doors used in an interior application, defined as being exposed to controlled interior climactic conditions on both sides of the door, this warranty shall survive for ten years after the date of shipment from Novin Doors. This warranty applies to doors properly sealed, finished and Hung. The ten year warranty on interior doors does not apply to fire-rated interior doors, doors with resin panels, or doors used in commercial, hospitality or multi-family applications, in which case, the one year warranty will apply. The ten year warranty applies only to the original end-user and is not transferable.

 

Your claim will be investigated, and the appropriate action taken within 30 days after Novin Doors Ltd receives all the information noted below. If it is determined there is a defect, your door system will either be repaired or replaced. If the request for service proves not to be justified or the problem has been misdiagnosed, travel and labour costs will be billed.

Your door has been handcrafted to last for years to come. But, like any fine piece of furniture, its finish will require some simple, periodic maintenance to keep it looking and great and provide protection against the elements. Regular finish maintenance is also a requirement of the warranty that`s included with every Door. 

Here are some signs to watch for. They indicate that it`s time for some simple, easy-to-perform maintenance:  

• Hairline cracks in the top coat of the finish  

• Changes in the color of the finish  

• Changes in the texture of the finish, such as flaking or scaling  

• Dullness or chalkiness in the finish If you live in a severe climate or your entry receives a lot of direct sunlight from a southern or western exposure, you`ll want to examine your door`s finish often. Depending on the conditions, you may also need to maintain the door finish more frequently. Stile and rail wood doors have multiple areas for moisture to gain access, therefore it’s very important to pay particular attention to adequate overhang and use only premium high-quality coatings and finishing techniques. In the event of little of no overhang please ask our Customer Service Representative for other door options.  

• AVOID DARK COLOUR FINISHES if a door is exposed to direct sunlight. This will reduce the chance of warping, checking, shrinkage and sunburn. Note sunburn in Douglas Fir will result in pitch bleeding out onto the surface, which will not be considered a defect. To remove bleeding pitch on surfaces, use a clean cloth in conjunction with acetone and apply to surface areas affected. This may have to be repeated several times throughout the year until the bleeding stops. The bleeding generally occurs during the summer months and in most cases will not persist after the first initial year of exposure. (also see: Characteristics Excluded From These Warranties; 12)
